My humble guitar rig consists of a Boss GT-6 through a Peavey Classic tube power amp into a Bag End 1x12 cabinet and an old Fender SS combo amp that is now just acting as a cabinet. My bass rig consists of a Tech21 VT Bass through the same amp/cabs.
Much to my surprise, I still haven't managed to blow the Fender speaker (and I don't baby it when playing bass), but I am figuring I want some new options for speakers eventually anyway. The Bag End as far as I can tell (I got it used and never really knew much about it) is kind of a general purpose instrument speaker (their website lists it for both guitar and bass)... whatever that means. At any rate, I like how it sounds pretty well. Maybe it works well with my modeling preamps because it's pretty neutral sounding? I don't really know.
Are there any other good options for a cab/speaker combination that can pull double duty for me? Preferably 2x12 or 2x10 or 4x10 or 1x15... one of those middle sized ones.
