TC Electronic Nova System or single effect pedals?????

Now that I got my amp, I need to build my pedal board from he ground up. I wasted so much money in the past on pedals a rarely used. This time around I would like to take a minimalist approach. I only will get what is needed.

Do I got for a handful of single unit effects or a multi effect unit. I'm more of a plug and play guy. I like to find a certain setting and leave it. I don't want to spend hours tweaking. I know the nova will require some tweaking but once I find it, I can save th preset.

I mainly need delay, reverb and chorus as my primary modulation. I would like some flange, phase and tremolo for the random usage.

I could go flashback, hall of fame and dreamscape or just get the nova. Whats your thoughts?

If you can afford a nova, there's pretty much no reason you shouldn't get it.

It can also do channel switching for your amp.

Could probably even make you a grilled cheese sandwich and do your taxes if you asked nice enough.

That what I was thinking. Te nova runs for $350. If I go single I would end up spending more.

I'd skip the nova system & get the Gmajor II instead, although you would need a footcontroller for it. I think those behringer FC1 something are supposedly good & surprisingly durable than the pedals they make lol

The nova can be used either in front or the loop of the amp, not in both places because it doesn't have it's fx loop. Same deal with the gmajor but atleast it will sit on top of the amp & less cable run back & forth should help lessen the tone suckage(if any) as well. If worried of heat transfer from the amp to the unit then add a layer of polystyrene between the two.
Another alternative to the nova is the Line 6 M13, this one has everything you need plus the freedom to have any 4 effects of the same type or different ones to be on at once or something which the nova doesn't, & it also has it's own fx loop so you can split the effects up front & in the loop of the amp.

Apart from those there is the Zoom G3X which goes for $200 new. You can have six effects at once with that, three preset buttons makes it a little difficult to use live. There are some DIY mods for it called ashbass or something that helps to add two or three external switches, but i guess it's a PITA to do. It lacks a relay, so it won't switch your amp's channel, not sure if it has midi either.
Boss GT's are also good but PITA to setup, although once set they perform incredibly well. RP1000 from digitech is also a good one. Their GSP1101 with the control2 is also cool with the beta update, although I guess you are paying extra for the amp modeling here I think, but should end up at about $500, can serve as a direct backup if the amp goes down.

Single pedals would still be a better way to go. TC Nova delay has presets, so does the Flashback4X I think.Analog modulation like phaser sound really good compared to digital replicas, a analog tremolo, phaser & flange pedal should be easier to get on budget in the used market.

Ended up getting a nova system. I wanted something small, portable and less is more feel. Plus I can use it with my acoustic setup.

Those are nice but I wanted something small and stripped down and hell of a lot cheaper
