I'm trying to decide between these two 20w hybrid heads for djenty Periphery type stuff. Joyo claims that the VIVO is based on a 5150, but I heard the demo and it sounded more like the modded plexi type 5150 sound than a modern metal 5150 sound. The meteOR is supposed to be based on an Orange, but it doesn't have all the fizz and hiss of a micro dark/micro terror. A modern metal 5150 sound would be ideal but I don't know enough about the VIVO. Thoughts? Anyone with experience with either amp?

Re: Joyo banTamP VIVO vs. Joyo banTamP meteOR
I'll probably be getting a VIVO, as it sounds really good to my ears for such a small amp. But yes, definitely a modded Marshally rather than a djenty 5150 type tone.
Really like all of these, btw. The blue one could have been nice to have as a jazzy/bluesy amp for the odd occasion where one might have been handy.

Is the VIVO even out? I can find the other models for sale on Reverb and eBay, but not that one. Doesn't look like Thomann has it either. I doubt many people will be able to provide any detail at this point then…

curiousity sure peeked on these.. The Vivo is out now!
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

Re: Joyo banTamP VIVO vs. Joyo banTamP meteOR
I was actually looking at these again earlier today! It seems like the VIVO was released quite a bit later than the other ones, so it has yet to end up in the hands of the YouTubers. This will definitely be a contender for a practice amp on my part, though, as I run a solid state power amp in my main rig, and would like to have a similar response in my practice amp.

If I'm designing and amp to emulate the core "orange tone", I'm gonna base it on a full-blown/all-tube head such as the OR series, Rockerverb series or AD... not a hybrid 20W head. I'm not saying they're not cool amps and I know lots of people like them but, IMHO, their bigger/louder/alltubes counterparts sound lightyears better and fuller.
What I'm saying is: if the MeteOr is doing a good job emulating an Orange amp, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if it doesn't sound "like" one of their micro series offering... might sound much better though *if* done right.

I recently discovered these myself. Might go down the rabbit hole and order 3 of them...ZoMBie, MeteOR, & VIVO.
They all sound great.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
