Thanks for the heads up.
Depending on how old it is (year of manufacture) really easy. The earlier ones require changing the PT as they are right at the amperage limit when running EL34 which isn't ideal. The newer ones have plenty of overhead. It will say on the top of the PT what the 6.3v winding spec is.
Let me know when you get it and i'll run you through what you need to do. It's literally 4 resistor changes. Please visit and share my guitar gear & DIY Blog

Re: Musician's Friend has JCA50H amps for CHEAP
I don't know why anyone thinks a cheap amp is better than a cheap guitar? Mediocrity is mediocrity. I don't want to disparage those needing budget gear, but you aren't getting premium sound from this, not to mention the questionable build quality or design of Chinese gear. I guess for the price, it is what it is.Last edited by MetalManiac; 12-08-2017, 11:40 PM."Anyone who understands Jazz knows that you can't understand it. It's too complicated. It can be adjusted to be 0db but it does change the sound of the amp doing so.
Another option is to leave the loop as is and bridge it internally then add another loop that's a bit more suited to your needs. Please visit and share my guitar gear & DIY Blog

Re: Musician's Friend has JCA50H amps for CHEAP
Okay, Toe-Knee, here's what the top of the PT says:
BLK-WHT-RED BLU-WHT-BRN
Fuse - 100V - 120V Fuse - 100V - 120V
YW PT - JCA50H
RED - WHT - BLK - RED
350V - 58V - 0 - 350V
BLU - BLK - BLU BRN - BRN
3.15V - 0 - 3.15 V 0 - 11.5V
I don't see any amperage specs anywhere...
