So after flip flopping back and forth for ages, I recently decided I wanted to focus more on the bass, as it’s always been basslines that get stuck in my head, but I needed a REAL amp (just looking for reliable and gigworthy and good with fuzz). Going super cheap on FB marketplace, I picked up an Ampeg SVT 450 with 5/9 eq sliders busted off. I found a set of 10 for $28 on ebay, replaced them, then set out to find a 4ohm 410 to get the full 450w out of the head yet fit in my car and still move some air.
Well, a couple days later I found a deal I couldn’t refuse: a beat yet functional SVT 810 for nearly nothing. Yeah, it needs some work down where one of the casters pushed through but that’s easy enough to shore up.
Anyway, I’m just stoked out of my mind. I didn’t get much chance to mess with it today but it’s LOUD as hell and sure has a lot more girth than my guitar amp with the low rolled off! Now, I just need to knock off my cobwebs and pull out the old metronome...and get a car this thing fits in...lol
I have NO idea how to fix the picture orientation. They started out fine...?
The wife took a pic because I’m like a kid on Christmas AND it accentuates my short fatness.
