  • Att : all Fender Hot Rod owners . . . speaker question(s).

This is to all the Fender Hot Rod owners who did an after market speaker swop.

    * What did you replace the stock speaker with ?
    * How do you feel did the new speaker change / improved the tone ?

    . . . after thought . . .

    * Is there a tonal diff in the various Hot Rods ? MK1, MK2, and MK3, or is it only visual diffs ?
If there is any tonal diffs, between the 3, do you know what it might be ?

The III's more scooped and more high treble I feel like
The only speaker swapped hot rod I played had a Weber American style speaker and it sounded much tighter and less "Woofy" than stock, especially in drive channel.
I should have bought that thing. It was $400 and looked brand new.

They are a fairly scooped amplifier which is why V30’s are my favorite replacement in them...

The slightly bumped EQ of the V30 lends itself quite well to the HRD....
