I feel very fortunate that I own both the first series Cyber Twin and the Vox Valvetronix 120 watt stereo head.... I can sure cover alot with these 2 amps!

I paid a grand for the cybertwin now I'm giving it away for $700 I hope, the remainder will be saved toward a Carr or Victoria or pay off the elitist 335 purchase (changed pups) just after purchase
I'm thinking of getting a Carr-Mercury I've read that it delivers great sustain at low practice volumes, which is all I do any way, I don't gig and really nobody to jam with around here anyway. or maybe a Victoria. I tried a Carr rambler at Gryphon Music it was real nice to my ears.

Try the Vox VTX 60 or 120 series....I have the VTX 120 head and I Love it.....I also have the first series Fender Cyber Twin that does great clean Fender stuff...The Vox beats the CT out for grinding british tones though..

    Re: cybertwin amps

I've had one for about 4 years now and I'm love/hate with it. Mostly love, but a bit-o-hate. It does a great job on modelling the other Fender amps, but I really struggle getting a full, smooth, fat distortion. I place my buddy's Shiva as a reference point for rich smooth gain, and although there is NO comparison between the two, my CT cannot even get close.

However, I'm usually playing a clean/mildly overdriven setting with my tele and it suits me fine for that. So I'm not really out all that much most of the time.

The reverb, delay/echo and trem effects are nice-the phaser and flanger kinda get fizzy.

Would I buy another one? Tough call-it's mostly an all in one amp, but there are times I'd love a small, portable tube amp like a Rohr or Rambler. Other days, I plug in and think, "damn, that's not too shabby!"

I'd get jack nothin' for trade/resale so I'll keep it and plan on adding a cool little amp to my collection later.

PM me if you have any specific questions.

    Dave

Try some Vox stuff. It'll change your mind in a hurry.

I really think you can get modeling amps that are just as good for a lot less cash. Plus from what I've seen it's too complicated of a layout. I don't mind modeling amps because as the technology grows they're getting better. It's a matter of preference.

I have a good friend who I used to be in a band with who has one. I jammed on it for a little while. It's a pretty nice modeling amp, and its got some good tones in it, but it's not for me.
My friend is really happy with it, and that's all that matters there.

    Rock On Bro!
