  • Getting That "La Grange" Sound

How does Billy Gibbons get that tastey sound for the solo sections of "La Grange" (besides using a Mexican Peso as a pick and being Billy Gibbons)? I'm talking guitar, amp and everything in between.

One of y'all must know how he does it.

Wouldn't mind knowing how he's getting that overdriven rhythm part either.

The gear that Billy Gibbons uses is literally all over the map. If you dont believe me do a search for my "Cheap Sunglasses" thread and give it a good read.

Low output 'buckers and poweramp distortion.

Or so, that's how it sounds to my ears.

Should not be too difficult, just keep practicing you'll get it soon enough.

Well said. For me, it's all in fingerpicking the intro/main riff properly.
