  • Maestro pedals?

Been hearing and reading alot about this pedal brand, when were they produced, are they still produced? What were special with them? I'm very interested about this pedal called Maestro Fuzz, does anyone have any experience with that pedal?

Maestro was Gibson's effects line. Some nifty stuff, I guess...

I had one of the Maestro Fuzz Tone pedals. The kind with the big silver circle on the face and the knobs on the right side. It was way to ratty and not really controllable- the 'fuzz' control just controlled how much effect was mixed in with your dry signal. If you turned it down all the way you had your guitar signal, as you turned it up, you hear your guitar signal mixed in with the transistor fuzz on top of it!

It got that "Satisfaction" sound really well, but not much else.

    Just my experience with it.

    Mine was similar to this:

They also made the phaser and stage phaser, the big aluminum wedges. Note the control labels:

Gibson reissued the fuzz but not the phaser.

I had an original 3-speed Maestro phase shifter....very cool sounding. It had big colored rocker switches on it. Jimmy Page used one in Zep.

A knob for controlling the balls? Sorry, just had to write it!
