Man these things really do wonders. I just replaced all 5 12AX7 slots in my Legacy with GT12AX7Rs and it did wonders for the tone.
Not only did it make the highs sweeter, lows a little tighter and the mids crisper, it richened up the distortion and made it MUCH more musical sounding. No more odd-order harmonics. It's a vast improvement over the stock Sovtek 12AX7WAs that were in there. I'm told JJ's sound excellent with this amp so I may try some of those next time.
There's EH power tubes in there and I'm told those are pretty decent so I'll leave them be. But If I do swap 'em.... JJs!
