    The goal here is a 8 ohm load. I have a 2x12 cab. w/t 2 8 ohm speakers. The
cab. has a series/parallel switch for 16 or 4 ohms and a ext. speaker out.
Now, If the speaker out is wired in parallel,And I hook up a 16 ohm ext speaker. Granted the cab. set to 16 ohms this should give me a 8 ohm load?
Yes/No? I could just buy 2 16 ohm speakers. But all my speaker are 8 ohms.
And most of my amps run a 8 ohm load so they wouldn't be interchangeable
in my combo's. Beside's why buy 2 if one will do the trick?

16 ohms in parallel with 16 ohms = 8 ohm load. Set the 4/16 cab to 16, then connect it in parallel with another 16 ohm load. Half your power will go to each 16 ohm load. Duncan Munro did a little excel spreadsheet for figuring out the load and power dissipation of speakers. It's on duncanamps.com someplace in the downloads section.
