  • Celestion G10 Vintage vs Seventy 80

The Laney VC30 212 comes with Seventy 80 and the 210 comes with G10 Vintage. The G10 Vintge speakers are in the classic section and the seventy 80's are in the General section does that mean thje G10's are better speakers?
    Which suit the Laney better?
I really need to know because it might determine which one i buy?
I want the speakers to have cut but not too sound harsh.

Re: Celestion G10 Vintage vs Seventy 80

I think it just means that the 10 is more of a "Classic" rock sound as opposed to a "General" all around rock sound.........

Never played the 70/80s, but I have a 4x10 w/the G-10s & they do rock. I have 4 Reverend All-Tones that I keep meaning to try out...2 in an X pattern with the Celestions, but I like the G10s.

I had a VC30 1x12....I think some type of "Blue" (Celestion, Weber, Mojo) would give you a Vox-like British rock tone.....they're pricey though.

If it comes stock with the 70/80s, you can always swap out 1 for a 12H30 for a different sound....

    I think I'd go for a 2x12 & maybe get a 2x10 extension cab later on.
