Try those new JJ ECC 803S preamp tubes. they are killer in low powered amps. I have a set of them in my Franklin 2xEL84 and they sound incredible.

I wondered how they sounded. I pulled out the ancient Telefunkens out of my old vibro champ and put in some 83s' I wonder how those would sound.....

These DIY kits look neat!!! Do they come with wiring/soldering diagrams? Also i read on one of the sites that solid PINE is what Fender used for amp cabs back in the early days.... Would that be true for the 65 Blackface Deluxe i own? Is Pine a good cab wood for Fender style stuff?

No advice on the wood..... guys? anyone?..... I heard Pine is a good combo wood if it does not have any knots.... is this true? What type of wood should be used for the speaker plate up front?
