  • FX loop send as line out

Basically what the title says. A drummer friend of mine needs a cheap amp for some studio hijinks, but the tube or hybrid lunchboxes in his price range don't offer any line out. So is it possible to use the FX loop send as a line out and then run cab sims in his DAW? And of course speaker would still be connected because never run a tube amp without a load.

    I dont see why not
people have been "slaving" with the send for a while
    doesn't appear to hurt

    There are parallel loops
    And series loops

I'm not sure what effect this would have, if any

You will get a sound direct from the preamp. So, you'd need an IR that includes the power amp, the cab and the microphone for the cab to approximate the sound of a miked up amp.
