Or that blue 50 watter from Traynor.
It sounds great, a slightly darker plexi sound.
    Very nice amp.

This is what I was gonna suggest..Clean channel on the F50 will do everything BUT the lush reverb....it's not a BAD reverb...but it's not the best.

Otherwise..channel one will go from tweed to near plexi-ish. It's still my fave clean channel EVAR.

F-30 I don't like nearly as much..at least in the combo version...and I just dont care much for 84s...

      It's also a LOUD friggin amp (30 or 50!)

It will be. The head alone is about $2k USD.

There's a new American dealer/distributor or Matamp in CT, Juniors. My brief experience dealing with them is basically what ruined my chances of trying out a 1224.
Why don't you take your little Cobra Kais and get outta here?!

Hey, Hoss. One thing I forgot to tell ya about the Zinky. The guy who builds 'em, Bruce Zinky, used to work for Fender and headed up their amp department in the Custom Shop. Just wanted to toss that little tidbit out there so you can get an idea of what the clean and reverb would be like. Now, the OD, I think he had some Marshall influence as well.

True, they are excellent value over here in the UK, but the exchange rate makes them too expensive for you guys i would guess. Thier customer service over here is second to none too, seems they just have a dodgy US distributor.

yeah 2k would be a bit out there for me...i'd like to keep it as close to 1k as possible and new or used doesn't matter at all.

I was gonna suggest the F series. I have mine on eBay now as well as my Nomad which is ultra versatile. Not really a plug here(wel maybe), but you may want to consider. The prices are in your range too.

I'm not sure if a used Shiva head would really be out of your pricerange. My friend just picked up a very nice used one for $1500 Canadian, which is about $1200US.

They are much better when you get them off the ground. When I 1st played a Shiva combo @ Ultrasound, it was on the floor, and I wasn't happy with it at all. A couple of weeks later, I played through another Shiva at Ultrasound that was off of the floor, and it sounded WAAAY better.

the Shiva sounds alot like what i'm looking for from the description...but it might be a bit too powerful...even at 60 watts i'd have to probably get it pretty loud to get tube saturation overdrive...i wish it had the feature on it like the Mesa Lonestar special where you could cut it down in watts 3 times...that would be perfect!
