    22 gauge? Isn't that about what one would find inside a guitar? Or maybe that's 28.
    Hey, if it works. I used the 12ga because I got it for free, it was during a time when I wanted maximum low end from the cab, and the cable was made to connect Rockford Fosgate subs to a power amp.

      There really isn't a ton of amperage in speaker wire
      certainly not 20 amps

        I think that the set of jumper cables that I have is 8ga. Admittedly, they could called upon to handle a lot more current.
