  • Peavey Vypyr VIP 1 20W

So I been looking to get a small practive amp recently and decided to order a Peavey Vypyr instead of the Roland Cube that's around the same price. Looking forward to the amp. Does anyone have one? If so, what do you think about it?

I use one for lessons. It is a really great amp, and has some cool software to save presets. I am a big fan of the VIP series. They do that thing (the cheap digital amp thing) better than Line 6 or Vox.

      I have a VIP2 and a Roland Cube
      I like em both
But the VIP has more options

Had two that she had a buzzing noise from
I'm not sure if the second one corrected that or if she just got used to it

        I have both

        The Vypyr is vastly superior

I had the VIP 3 and loved it. The models are good and the speaker they come with are good for that thing they do. I changed it once and didn't like it better, so went right back. I only got rid of it because of an older Peavey combo I couldn't part with. (Peavey Bravo)

            What is the original speaker?

I have this amp now. The original speaker is a 8'' Peavey VIP. It's a pretty good sounding amp that is really loud on 1. Some of the effects I don't care much for, but for a small practice amp, I like it.

I didn't know that it had an 8". I was wondering if it was a 70/80 Celestion because I know a few modeling combos use it. It's probably something proprietary to Peavey. Though I have an inexpensive practice bass amp that has an 8" Celsestion in it that sounds killer.

                  It's pretty decent.

Speaker swaps probably not a good idea since the models are EQ'd to sound right with this one.

I got a 20w Peavey bass amp that I use for keys. The little beast can get above a full band with a drummer. Peavey practice amps are no joke.

That's why I use a Peavey Firebass 700 for serious business.

Only if you turn pre-amp and master past 3.

                            My VIP2 has a 12 inch speaker
probably right about changing speakers though
