That was actually the most shocking number. You know a power amp with 1 power transformer, 2 output transformers, 8 power tubes and 3 preamp tubes is not going to be light. The power unit though is surprising!
    Oh no.....

    Oh Yeah!

My 4 space rack has a Furman, and it is the heaviest thing in there.

        Furman PL-8C: 11.8lbs

        Dunlop Rack Wah: 3lbs?

        Korg Pitchblack Pro: 0.8lbs

        Voodoo Lab GCX: 3.65lbs

        TC G-Major 2: 4.1lbs

        Shelf: 2lbs

        Pedal Power: .8lbs

        Pedals (6): 4.2lbs

        Marshall JMP-1: 10lbs

        Mesa TriAxis: 11lbs

        Mesa 2:90: 35lbs
        ~90lbs.
That's not horrible. That's about what my 4x12 guitar or 4x10 bass cabs weigh. And I can easily move those with a two wheeler.

It's not even as big as a refrigerator.

How tall is each space in a rack? 2"? That's only ~2' tall. I think that I'd have an easier time with a 12 space rack than a 4x12 guitar cab.

Total height under 2 ft, the rack itself is in the neighborhood of 35lbs itself.
                Oh no.....

Seriously? And people are concerned with moving that? I if you also had an amp head and cabinets and you had to move it all in one shot it could be challenging, but not impossible.

This rig will be the rack, a smallish pedalboard with a Ground Control Pro and Wah controller and a cabinet.

Life is short, go for it! We all did back in the day and lived to tell about it.
The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

You would feed on their hatred and play better than ever!

Unless you were James Hetfield, John Petrucci or Jerry Cantrell and you were compensating them handsomely!

I would ditch the Furman for a regular shallow rack mount powerstrip and put it in the rear rails. Would also ditch the Korg tuner and put a boss tuner with 3ft cable on top of the rack when playing. This will give you a 10u rack option and remove 20lbs (using SKB rack case). Put wheels under the rack and it will rolls easily almost everywhere.

I have to say, I can't believe how heavy those Furmans are...they add a lot of weight to a rack. I am sure there is a better solution for power out there.
