  • Speaker wattage AC30

    Hi!

I have a AC30 (CC1) 1x12 combo with a Neo Dog 16ohm 60Watts speaker. I am thinking about changing it with a Greenback G12M.. but this speaker is 25watts as far as i can find.

Is it possible to switch with this wattage difference ? And can it damage the amp/speaker ?

    Thanks.

You want to make sure your speaker can handle the wattage or you will have problems.
The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

      I wouldn't mate a 25 watt speaker to a 30 watt class A amp. Maybe a 65 watt Creamback would be better.

        Read this: http://www.c3605.de/VOX/info-pool/sp...t-on-speakers/

One of the characteristics of Celestion Blue AlNiCo speakers was that they were rated for 15W at 8Ohm (the AC30 2x12 wired them in series for 16Ohm) - so speaker break-up is a big part of the classic sound of the AC30.
