well, i know this song is old but the new album reminded me of it and was wondering what amps/setting/effects does the darkness use for i believe in a thing called love for lead and rythm

    Gibson Les Pauls....?

I've heard that this album was recorded with POD's and other emulator things, but I'm not really sure. When I saw them live at the Manchester Evening News Arena, Justin Hawkins was using LP customs and a Mesa, while Dan Hawkins was using LP's too and Marshall 1959slp's.

      Guitars - Les Pauls

Amps - Dan uses old Marshall MkII heads with 1960s Marshall cabs. Justin uses Mesa/Boogie dual rectifier heads into Marshall cabs.

Effects - Dan sometimes uses a Tubescreamer for the occasional solo.

Amp settings - Eh, apparently you can try kicking up the bass and treble, but cut out some of the mid. Muck around with it.

I heard something about justin using a DS-2 into a jcm800 for leads.

The guitar sound for that tune was recorded solely using pro-tools I believe. Marshall, Mesa/Boogie and Les Pauls for the rest of the album.

On that albumn, Justin also used a Dan Armstrong Plexiglass guitar for all the solos. Because 'it cuts through the mix better than a Les Paul'
