  • Blackheart 5

Hi all... picked up a used blackheart 1x12 little giant combo this weekend in like new condition. It runs 3w or 5w. I font know much about it yet. Looks like rubs on two tubes and has eminence 12” special speaker.

Sounds great clean. Might be a nice amp for using pedals.

Man those Blackhearts usually sound great cranked up into overdrive.

I had the 15 watt version for a while and it sounded killer. Enjoy

This was my first tube amp!
was a religious experience for me, cranking it to past noon the first time.
Beefy circuit board inside. Simple circuit. Mods exist if you ever feel like it. Perfect amp to experiment on.

Yeah, loving it right now. A simple amp. I've tip-toed into tube amps since my Egnator experience. I have a few hybrid heads that I love (small, 5 watt) so this is a slight step forward in a combo format. This thing is REALLY well-made.

I also had a RELIGIOUS experience ... first time I turned a tube amp (my own Blackstar) up to power-stage distortion.

It gives off a nasty, brash- really musical square-wave fuzz at full crank. A sound, no transistor/digital amp can do.

Also, it starts giving off beautiful, warm, shimmering harmonics, before it audibly "distorts". .

Tube amps are the biz...! \m/

EDIT: I doubt my Blackstar has a "simple circuit" for modding though. It looks like a Iphone inside, and I'll be sad the day it stops working. Because, I guess it will be impossible to fix.

I had the head version of this as my very first tube amp as well. Really liked it.
