    IMHO, the Jackhammer is as good as it gets for Hard Rock and Metal. This pedal will turn your amp into a High Gain Tone Monster.

    how does the Guv'nor sound compared to the Shred Master? I see Shred Masters around here in the local shops and the last one I saw like a month ago went for $180. No pedal is worth that much IMO.
    No problem, man. All it takes is one sales dummy (not you but whoever told the guy or guys that told you) to say one thing and it spreads like wildfire...LOL.

    The Shred Master is heavier, a lot heavier. The Guv'nor is more of a classic/hard rock overdrive but it has a good amount of drive to it. The Shred Master just kills. Those black box Marshall pedals are classics, that's why they're going for so much now.

    wixom, the Guv'nor was out before the Shredmaster. First came the black Guv'nor, then the Blues Breaker, Driver Master and Shred Master (all in black enclosures). The new silver Guv'nor Plus is an updated version of the original Guv'nor.

    I played a jackhammer through a JCM 800 at a little guitar shop in town. The guy was trying to sell me a pedal as I was trading in my Boss Power Driver... The prick had me playing a Gibson Les Paul Classic with Duncans into the Jackhammer into a JCM 800. Of course it's gonna sound good! At the time I was playing a stock Squier Affinity strat into a Squier amp. As if I'm going to get the same tone... But it sounded awesome in the setup he had me playing.

    I've heard more of the Guv'nor than the jackHammer.
    But i believe both are equally good.

    I'm using a marshall compressor sustainer and it rocks.
    But I didn't know that the Guv'nor is a updated shredmaster.
    Thanks =)

    I've got a Jackhammer. It's pretty good. I keep it on Overdrive and set the Gain at like 3 o'clock and it's all the crunch I need. Looking into getting a plexitone, but not sure if I can swing the cash.
