Oh, they are owned by Fender.

And while a new version is $199, the upgrade for existing users is $199, too. I "love" spending gear money on bits and bytes.

A $200 plugin is worth $0 if you don't end up using it.

That is why I recommend Komplete. It comes with GR6, but that is just a freebie. The Kontakt libaries, synths, sampled pianos, drum libraries, orchestral and soundscape instruments are why you buy it.

Well, I bought it.

First positive surprise is that it covers bass as well as guitar. Didn't know that before the 2x 15" cabs showed up. That's actually great. If the overdriven sounds don't work out because of fizz or whatever I can still use it for bass.
