WOW im impressed with the peavey XXX!
My mate and I just went to play test all of the current big peavey heads because he wanted to buy one, and at first he was after a 5150 mk2...then i suggested a JSX might be the way to go...so we went there thinking that we would be choosing between the JSX and the 6505+......but then we cranked up the XXX 
Man that thing smokes! Its got a pretty decent clean channel but the gains are just some of the easiest good sounding high gain tones ive ever heard. Depends what your cup of tea is of course, but if you're looking for something to do that 80's rock/metal thing like poison or skid row or things like that you should definitely check one of these out...for high gain around that price range i haven't heard anything that comes close, and ive heard a few amps! And this was using some random guitar with crappy pickups in it, and absolutely no delay or anything on the amp! Very very impressed...the only amp ive heard that i like better for that sort of thing is my ENGL Savage
