  • Pics of my new Engl Screamer 50

Here it is boys, the Engl Screamer 50! Excuse the ****ty quality of the pics, they're from my cell. My digital camera is old and sucks major balls, and we can't find the charger to my gf's.

Oh yes, nice and shiny! I'm even wearing the same shirt that's in my avatar!

Look at that MASSIVE footswitch! The footswitch turns this head into a 4-channel head with a lead boost, and reverb at your feet.

    Look at that backside.

    Well hello there power tubes.

Here she is stacked on top of a Mesa Dual Rectifier. It belongs to the bass player of the death metal band my drummer is also in. He lets one of their guitarists use it. Thus, I can't adjust the settings, and that sucks because he's got it setup poorly. I just plug in to the Mesa Cab. The Engl sounds better than the Mesa to me and the other guitarist in my band anyway, and he's owned a Dual Rectifier before.

.............might of been the guy I was going to trade.

Just too flaky for me; I never heard back from him when he came up with a "I took it to be rebiased & the tech screwed something up" story........

I never bothered following up after that.

Anyway, they seem like VERY COOL amps........ENJOY

No big thing......I was just getting a lot of red flags & flaky vibe off the guy.

I let it go as much as he did.

Not even sure this is the same guy, but I'm glad you got a cool amp Lee !

                          Congrats!

I have a Fireball and it's incredible. Sent straight from Beelzebub's jam room.

How "metal" does the screamer get? How do you like the reverb?

It gets just metal enough. I wouldn't call this amp a metal amp, but it can pull it off pretty well. I've yet to put an overdrive pedal in front of it, but I'm guessing that'll beef it up even more. The reverb is very lush!

Edit: I also have a Crate V-Series 50w 2x12" tube combo, I'd say on a scale from 1-10 rating how much gain the amp has, it's a 6-7, the Engl is a 7-8. This thing is pretty much ideal for any style of rock, and adequate for most metal genres.
