For overdrive, it was a Boss GE-7 equalizer and a Rat distortion (coincidentally, the same two boxes are on my latest pedalboard). Of course, he used a bunch of 80's rack-mount stuff (Lexicon?) for chorusing and ray-gun effects.
While searching for something else, I came across these on eBay the other day:
Auction 1
Auction B
I always loved Stevens' playing (and not just because we share a last name). He was always right out on the edge, going for it.

I say he used a JB with Vince Niel
steve was a big JB user but he uses BK's now in the last guitar player if you look at the covered pickups you can see they say bare knuckleReckless Abandon said:he said in a interview on guitar.com he was using a custom custom now instead of a JB. There was a link on this site somewhere.

He does lve his MODDED 5150, and he does say they are Modded.
I heard a couple of live recordings where he used the Custom custom in his white LP - very nice, too buttery (though I do use the CC, it can be too buttery)
He does love V30 speakers.
BTW, he is in the new Godin ads, is this his new axe of choice?
