  • Inductance? Op-Amps? What???

Along the lines of a recent forum bro looking for a good intro to tube amps, I'd like a good intro to the components and language often used to describe these amps and other electronics. Can anyone recommend a good, practical book for the lay musician who really wants to start understanding what people mean when they say "I used a 2pf orange drop cap and RMC455J chip to load the impedance of the op-amp with the tranny set at 4k"? (Not that anyone would ever write a sentence like that.)

Know what I mean? A sort of Electronics for Dummies thing, even better with a lean toward guitars and amps (although this is not a necessity since really I just want to understand what the darned things do).

I think you just inadvertantly reverse-engineering a classic Tube Screamer there.
