i'm a newbie as far as amps go so how do they sound? particularly the superdrive 30. is it versitile, what styles does it best fit? i have a squeir strat but am planning to get a better one soon.

I've only actually heard one budda amp in person and that thing sounded amazing. The guy played old style blues with slide/harmonica type of thing..but it had this warm and creamy tone that was so sweet. I have a Budda SuperDrive 18. I really love it. I've only had it 3 months, though, so I'm still experimenting and fiddling with it. So far, though, I love it. The sound is warm and rich. The cleans are nice, but with an 18 watt, there's less headroom. The gain doesn't reach the saturation of a Bad Cat or a Bogner, but it's a beautiful drive tone. I'd say this amp would be good for anything from jazz to country to blues to classic rock to hard rock. Light metal (if there is such a thing). It's really not designed for the heavy gain sounds of a metal rig.
I have yet to try it with pedals. I have just ordered a budda wah, a fulltone choralflange, fulltone OCD, and a compresser/sustainer. Once my new pedalboard is complete and up and running, I'll let you know how the amp reacts with pedals. I'm particularly interested in seeing how the Fulltone OCD interacts with the amp's gain. Another guy over on the Harmony-Central forums recently posted a clip of him playing Cliffs of Dover through a Budda SD 80. You can really hear a fantastic tone setting on that clip.
