Just got the tubes in at lunch time and popped them into both amps.
JJ 6v6s-One word...wow, what a difference a new and great quality tube can make. This one's in my Silvertone 1471 with a old Fender 7025 and Silvertone 6x4 rectifier. The tube is physically about 1/4 bigger than the original Silvertone 6v6gt. The covered blanket sound dissapeared. It's extreemly touch sensitive, good bottom end(for a 6 watt/8" speaker), syrupy mids and highs and was brokeup nicely when pushed. Sounded good with my LP, but really came to life with my Tele(Broadcaster/Blues Special).
TAD 6l6GC-STR(Long Bottle)-These are in the Peavey Valveking. VERY nice tubes, very musical, chimey yet warm, much smoother gain due to lack of powertube breakup. Now I didn't have the extreem change in tone as the Silvertone did, but it was an improvement over the Sovtek 6l6WXT+'s. I'll post more on these later tonight after band practice when I really get to heat them up.
