Re: Tube Dampeners!
They keep the internal parts of the tube from making noise, if they rattle against the glass. Whoever came out with them is pretty smart because they work, and they don't burn.
I heard another trick for quieting rattling tubes......put a stripe of silicon glue around the glass.....same concept as the tube dampeners.Originally posted by Boogie BillI've got 60 guitars...but 49 trumpets is just...INSANITY! WTF!

I use the cheap silicone rings- you can get them at any home hardware store cheaper than the one's on ebay." Rock and Roll IS a contact sport!"

Re: Tube Dampeners!
That's an old high end stereo geek tweak.....the Tube Sox have been around a while. Not sure if you need to tweak that much on a guitar amp. As both a stereo and recent guitar geek, i have always thought that some of the imperfections that stereo guys try to eliminate might be things that make for great guitar amp tone...lol'05 '59 Les Paul RI, WCR Goodwoods
