  • AVT100 Help!!

    Hi

I wonder if any of you can help

I have a Marshall AVT100 and I know that its not the best amp out there but im having trouble dialling in the EQ (mostly on the clean channel)

Can anyone please help me, Its the Gain / Volume and Tone controls & presence that i need the most help with

Any advise on the best way to get the best settings would be gratefull and an explanation on how to adjust the sound

    Thanks

    Lee

    Re: AVT100 Help!!

My best advice is to grip them firmly with your fingers and twist, theres your explanation on how to adjust the sound.

whatever bass, not much mid, plenty of treble, treble boost/bright on presense at about half, gain less than or = to half, volume about half.

            Re: AVT100 Help!!

sound and tone are such subjective things- a setting that works for one person may not work for you- guitar, pickups, speakers, strings, picks, & technique all come into play.
There is no magic setting-no silver bullet- you didn't even say what type of tone you are trying to achieve.
The best advice is experiment until you find what you are looking for- if you can't find it in the AVT then I suggest you look at other options.
P.S. You will never really get the "Marshall Sound' with your current amp. YOu might get close- but it ain't never gonna' sound like an all tube Marshall

Indeed there are desent "preset" type sounds in the book/manual that sound good.

                  Re: AVT100 Help!!

Pick the sound of a guitarist that you like, and try to emulate that sound with your amp. You should also understand what and how gain, bass, mid, treble, etc. control work together in general.

From my perspective, I always crank the mid knob to the max in any marshall.

                    Hi

Thanks for your replies, the problem that I have is that if I have the scoop / bright button pressed in on my clean channel then its too fuzzy and if I turn it off theres not enough fuzz on there....

How do I get a happy medium?

one solution is to get a distortion or OD pedal. might help with what you are looking for. it might be the AVT distortion that you do not like.
