Peavey Classic 50/50?

In my recent amp search thread (thanks to everyone who commented, BTW), I got recommended a Peavey 60/60 power amp to use with my GT-6. I looked online a bit and there are quite a few more 50/50s out there than 60/60s. Also on Harmony Central (taken with a grain of salt) the 50/50s got higher marks and were reviewed more times. I dunno. Has anyone here ever played/owned one? Though I was originally leaning toward a combo amp (ycv50blue or PV ultra 60), I think I will appreciate having the vesatility of my GT-6 more. Also, is it true that I could pull half the tubes in the 50/50 to get a half powered amp (i read that on one of the reviews)?

I can just tell you that players I know have raved about the Classic 50 power amp. If that helps at all, I dunno?

I personally am just not a huge Peavey fan.
