  • Soldano Hot Mod

It's been talked about - let's talk about it again!

I just don't get what I want with pedals. I need that tube crunch. Will this and a Weber Mass do it on an old Marshall NMV? I am hoping to NOT run it on ten as to save the amp some wear.

Anyone know one for sale? I am already bid to hell on Ebay, so I have up.

    What you cookin' wit' dawg?

If'n it were me, I'd get a 100w NMV and stick a 16 ohm hot plate between that and a 4x12 cab and make the rock happen. Otherwise I'd kick it with a 50w MV head.

I almost bought one on e-bay. If its the same thing it goes in one of the tube sockets of the amp right? I called Soldono on it and they gave me some guy (seemed very nice) who explained that it only works with amps that are single channel. Its supposed to increase gain on the amp. I have never heard the product per say so I cannot vouch if it works or not. There are a few people who swear by them. Supposedly they are not manufactured anymore by Soldono. I would love to hear how it sounds like.

          100w?

Are you not getting what you want out of the amp with the attenuator?

Hmm, I use the amp with an attenuator and variac, but sometimes I want more of the Hot Rod tone. The Fulltone OCD gives me some of that but I wanted some options.
Plus, running on 10 all the time is deadly for the amp. It will blow one day!
