  • HBD (RIP) Willie Dixon

    William James Dixon, born in Vicksburg Mississippi USA July 1, 1915,
    died Burbank CA USA January 29, 1992.



    Not only was he a stand-up guy on the stand-up bass, he was an inspiration to a generation of musicians around the world,
    as a composer of songs like “Hoochie Coochie Man", "Little Red Rooster", and "I Can't Quit You".

    Here's a link to a story on the NoTreble website, where his grandson Alex details his life with one of the coolest grandpas ever,
    and keeping American history alive through the Blues Heaven organization and museum, located in the former Chess Records building in Chicago.
