It's commendable of you to have hooked him up. I do a lot of tech work for cheap or free, mostly for the gratification of seeing an instrument come alive, but a total refinish goes above and beyond! The world needs more of this kind of thing.
    hell yeah

I do a bunch of stuff for a local kid who is amazing but needs a guardian angel sort of. It's very gratifying. I can't tell you how much it meant to me when he got accepted into the college guitar program he was trying for because I showed him Segovia's scales. He was so psyched and so was I. I love this **** you guys have to know that by now. To help out good people, family and friends is what makes life worth it

The bass player from my old band Mr Nasty - he's one of my closest friends, it's not like I'd charge him for anything

You did all that work for free for your bass player?

I'd show you guys the pics of it all done but I seem to have lost my phone -_-

My buddy was thrilled to death when he got it, everyone was pretty stoked about it seeing it.

    Total feel good project.

I've got that same 3-point bridge/tailpiece on my LP bass. I hear there's an aftermarket version that's even better.

cool project, Scott ... surprising how well you shot that flake!

it's encouraging for me ... I've just started a super strat project ... first it was gonna be Reranch, now I'm thinking of using Testors spray lacquers, 'cause I've used them on a couple of pedals, and they worked well

it came to me with a mix of black and gold hardware and screws, everything is all black now.

The knobs were a little tricky but I think they work pretty well, it's all for fun.

I should have the neck on today if all goes well. The acrylic lacquer is very soft but it needs to be used for a show Friday night. After that it'll sit for a little while, I'll do a wet sand and some more clear and it should be pretty sharp.
