Agreed. If you find the old Vandenburg guitar, you will probably be getting the same thing but alot cheaper. I do not know the specs on the new Peaveys, but the look is the exact same. You might even find one real cheap if it is shredder pink!!!!

I've played this guitar at Sam Ash ... looks great, plays less than great. I think the Vandenberg guitar, which this is based on, was only available in pink, tho, if memory serves ...Why don't you take your little Cobra Kais and get outta here?!

Okay, after doing a little research, the Vandenberg model was available from 1988-1992, and had the following editions:
1st edition Standard: Poplar body, Bolt on neck, ebony fretboard, Kahler 2700 Tremolo
2nd edition Standard: Poplar body, Bolt on neck, ebony fretboard, Kahler Spyder Tremolo
a 3rd edition was made with a Floyd licensed Peavey tremolo
Custom: Neck through, Mahagony body, choice of maple or ebony fretboard
Puzzle Piece: same as custom, but different inlays, white or black (rare!)Why don't you take your little Cobra Kais and get outta here?!

I've never picked up a guitar off the rack at Ash and been real impressed how it plays, they are rivaled only by GC in their inability to get a guitar on the rack in decent playing condition.
Nothing against Peavey but if you really like that style super-Strat look for an 80's MIJ ESP Horizon, beautiful guitars. My Bands -

I think in the 80's or whenever the Vandenburgs came out , that they were available in four color schemes. Black, Pink, Puzzle, and a dream like sequence with moons, or something. I had a buddy that had one, very cool looking guitar, great price, but it played like A S S.......

Re: Anyone play the new peavey V type guitar, looks cool
I have a red 1st edition Vandenberg. It plays good and it's good for what it is, but since I play hardly any metal anymore, it's getting no playing time. The sound leaves something to be desired for the metal I was playing (thrash) but new pups would solve that. If you want to know anything about the guitar just ask me.
