  • I got my Avatar cab today but I have a question

I got my cab today, however I haven't had the chance to play it yet. On the back of the cab I noticed two jacks. Are both of these inputs for the amp? I'm a little confused as I've only owned combo amps before.

Also I'm going to get speaker cables tomarrow. Any suggestions on what I should get? Thanks!

I believe one of those inputs is for the amp, and one is for other cabs... but I could be wrong.

plug it in to either one. It doesn't matter. I would recommend Monster speaker cable.

Both are inputs for the amp.

            Another vote for monster cables.

I'm not a cab expert or anything, but if it's a mono cab, aren't those inputs for different ohm values? Wouldn't plugging into an input with too low an ohm value damage the amp?

No, they are not for different ohm values. What he is talking about is the two inputs jacks that are on a single plate, both of which are the same ohm load. You can plug your amp into either one as both are the same load. There is a sticker on the plate that will say 4, 8 or 16 ohm mono. Match it to your amps output jack and commence to p*ssing off the neighbors.

Re: I got my Avatar cab and it rocks!

Hey guys I haven't been able to hop on here the past few days, but I just wanted to say everything sounds great. I could not have asked for such a quality cab at such a low price. The cab I picked goes great with my 5150. I'll be sure to give a review on the amp and cab sometime next week.
