  • S'more amp troubles

Ok, I finally had a chance to drive my Gibson GA-30 to the max, crankin it up all the way, but still, toally clean. Even using the hotrails, I couldnt push it into more than the "way more clean than dirty" catagory. So, I reckon I do need a OD pedal (the blasphamy! ). I need the cheapest but bestest sounding OD pedal that instead of sounding like a pedal, sounds like OD from my amp. Any takers?

You may need a distortion pedal instead of an od.

I think the Boss SD-1 is about as cheap as you'll find.

I'm not a distortion kind of guy, I'm a natural overdrive dude. That's why I need something that can either push my amp to clip sooner, or allow it to sound like it's clipped.

A modded DS-1 can give a clean amp a very natural overdrive sound.

SD-1, BD-2, Wylde OD. If you're looking for something that does rhythm and lead, I'd go with the Wylde OD.
