  • Tried something different today...

One of our techs is a tubehead, today he brought along a DC-coupled poweramp.
4 EL-34's and about 100 120 watts, then we dummyloaded the Hiwatt and used a preamp outtake into the poweramp and down to the 4x12 cab.......wow!!!
Very clear and fat, lots of everything actually, then I threw my overdrive into the whole thing.......well you'll get the clips tommorow

Man, cussing in Danish sounds angrier than English!

It's interesting trying different power sections with different pre's. At one time, I had two Chieftain 2-12 combos set up in stereo. I tried to see what a Marshall JMP-1 would sound like, being fed into both FX returns of the Matchless's. Sounded pretty cool, although the power sections on those combos is rectified and spongier than a big powerful stereo power amp. Fun to try, though.

Yep this poweramp really has that elusive kinda spongy bottom, everything just comes flying out.....hehe I think that we are on to something here
