well, I owe it all to Lew, HamerPlyer, jeremy, and the other Hamer owners with much more foresight than myself. Even Evan has chimed in on the Hamer "jonesin' " threads a couple times.
I honestly don't know how they do it at those prices. Their finishes are mesmerizing.

Hello Hello--
I've got a Hamer Archtop Sunburst from 1991 [carved flame-top, dot inlay...] and a 1982 Vector [Flying V]. No pictures, though!.
I am trying to dig up the two guitars that Hamer made for my friend Billy Bremner when he was with The Pretenders......two flat-top Sunbursts with body binding and porpoise-shaped headstocks.....pretty strange looking!

I wish I had a slightly less washed-out picture, but here's my emerald green '94 Studio. The pickup covers look gold in the pic, but they are nickel. Rio Grande BBQ in the bridge, Duncan Alnico II Pro in the neck. It's got a Tonepros bridge, as well as a set of Grover locking tuners, and I have an Earvana nut that I'm going to try on it. I got a killer deal on it, $630 shipped. I was lucky enough to find a private seller looking to unload this...I got a nice thank you note from his wife when I bought it.

This is my third Hamer I had 2 Monaco Elites sold them Now this is currently my only Guitar. It is awesome with Seths But I am thinking of trying a CC in the bridge.

Do not, I repeat do not put a custom in the bridge it will totally destroy the tonal character of that guitar. Try some phat cats or even antqs if you must but do not put a custom in there. Trust me on this one.

Yeah, if you want to try something new, go with one of the other vintage-style pickups...'59, Alnico II Pro, Pearly Gates, etc. High output pickups generally don't match up well with hollow or semi-hollow guitars, at least not to my ears.

I'd love to have a USA Hamer, but this import I have is damn nice. If I could find a double cut with binding and abalone inlays of some type for around $600 I'd buy it. Any more than that, and I'd buy something different.

Have: '95 Archtop Studio in natural finish with covered JBb and 59n.
Want: Yes! (Korina Artist P-90, Newport...)
