  • Gibson 50th Anniversary Flying V

I don't always lust for Flying V's, but this one is a work of art!

Especially interesting is the newly designed tuners. I've never seen them before, and they look kinda cool.
    Apparently, they're Steinberger tuners.

I'm not normally a V fan, but holy cow, that is seriously a nice axe.
Those tuners look fantastic as well

Yup, V's have never been my thing but *that* is truly a thing of beauty.....personally, i'd love to see it with white binding on the front of the body, but even as it is, it's a classic......

That is gorgeous, and I even dig the gold hardware.

I don't have any pics or any links, but for a very short time, Gibby made the "V90" in the early 90s. A friend of mine had one. That was a cool V. It had a little less class than this one, but a little more sleekness to it - shape and size were nearly the same as the pic above.

Looks really nice but those tuners are for the birds.

Some guys dig them but I thought they were a total PITA.

Looks like a great guitar. I'd love to have a V in white color though.

Even though they're cool looking, I tend to agree. They look like a design that might be a little less than stable, compared to regular tuners. I like how it retains the clean arrowhead look though.

Aw gosh! That is a mighty fine guitar there! I'm blown away by it. I don't like the tuners though.

believe it or not those tuners work very well. its a locking tuner. its just a pain to tune but once its in tune its not going anywhere.

That 50th Anniv V is gorgeous, and the price on the auction is quite good if the guitar is in new condition. MF had (or still has?) these Vs for $2250, so $1900+$60 is not bad.
