  • Midrange/DB boost. How do you do it?

Hey guys I have a strat and I have a master volume, and master tone on it. I'm thinking of putting a master midrange boost on it. I know nothing about them. How do they work? Is it a whole kit with a battery that you buy?

    Has anyone tried them?

I belive they use a pot with a middle "lock-in" position at 5, right?

It sounds cool because you can play rhythm and then for your lead sound boost yourself up a tad when you step on the OD channel and get to work.

    Any information/links would be appreciated!

Depends Which System. The later 80īs Jackson MidBoost Preamp is the only circuit in that direction Iīve had experience with, and it uses (depending on axe) either a pot or a miniswitch for the cut /Boost.

They seem to work best with lower output pickups for most folks, though. I use a Dime in mine, but itīs also completely over the top even when not boosted

You could do it on your amp by doubling the value of the mid tone pot...of course, that's a bit more complicated.
