  • oooh, GAS attack!

I look at McCarties on ebay fairly often in the hope that a teal black one comes up. Haven't had any luck yet, but this is a killer:

If you can get someone to agree to ship to you, there's always a good deal on a McCarty in the States, somewhere. Teal black really is such a great color. I'm thinking that the stock pickups in those don't even need to be changed. I like their P-90's and the McCarty pickups sound vintage, but really great too. I have C-5/59 in one McCarty, and stock in the other one. The Duncans are beefier sounding, but I could flip a coin as to which I like better.

There's a teal black Mccarty soap at my local dealer. It CALLS to me, but they want NZ$4700 for it. That's over $3000 US. I could almost get two McCarty Soaps for that on ebay. Of course, shipping and customs come into it, but it still looks like a deal.

Yeah, I played a McCarty the other day but just can't stomach seriously discussing a purchase when we have to pay such huge prices.

I think you're right, since the McSoapies come stock with Duncan Custom P90's (custom P-90 model, not custom shop).
