Hollow Body Electrics and humidity

Are hollowbody electrics subject to the same humidity issues that affect acoustic guitars?

I've noticed that most stores don't have them in a humidified environment... curious to know if they are best stored in a case or if you can leave them sitting out more liberally.

The high end carved top and back archtops will behave the same way as a fine acoustic will to temperature and humidity changes. Most production archtops are made from laminated backs, sides, and tops, so they will resist temperature and humidity changes much better than their higher end counterparts. I guess you can treat them kindof like a cheaper import guitar that's made with no solid woods. Not as tough as a tel, but quite a bit more resiliant than, say, a fine Martin.

BTW, this holds true for guitars such as Gibson 335's, Epi Sheratons, and Ibanez Artcores and guitars like that.
