  • How can 2xel34 be 50 and 60 w?

Some amps with 2 EL34s for power are listed as 50 watts, my Marshall has 2, and it's listed as 60 watts. Are internal voltages higher on the 60 w, or is there just a rating range or what?

My Bogner is rated at 80+ watts with 2 EL-34's and a plate voltage of about ~460ish VDC!

Given the same output tube type, variations in output wattages tend to result from the following factors:
      • Plate voltage
      • Degree of THD allowed (i.e., how much distortion can the amp introduce while the output is still considered "clean")
      • Peak vs. continuous power measurement
