    It has been so long, I don't even remember where this 500 came from. I will have to dig out another N4 and see what is in there.

      Sometimes after a major change, you have to play the guitar to find any quirks that need addressing. After playing the N4 for a couple of weeks, I noticed the low E would sometimes slip off the edge of the board. I thought this was odd considering the new frets were wider and the original nut was retained.

      I looked into it tonight and noticed the string slot was a bit wide for 10s. I guess this was done to accommodate a variety of string sizes. The string gravitated towards the edge of the slot, so I slid it over and tightened the lock pad. That seemed to cure it, but as soon as I loosened up the pad, it would slip back.

      Pulled off the nut and filed in some shallow groves for the wound strings.




      A very small adjustment, but sometimes that is all it takes.
