  • Fender/Squier are weird companies...

I was at Guitar Center today, and I was just shocked by how weird Fender and Squier are.

1.) Fender has an ash strat, ash tele and some sort of thinline set neck guitar, that just recently came out (american I believe) and they all have SD's in them, yet their higher models have fender pickups or lace sensors save the PG+ ones. It's just weird that they'd put pickups that so many people regard as phoenominally better on relatively inexpensive guitars.

2.) I saw a Squier with a flamed maple top/veneer (couldn't tell), then another with figured maple top/veneer.

I saw a set-neck Squier Stagemaster or something or other today at this local shop. I swear I'm not lying to you that I took a triple-take at it.

...what this has to do with anything? nothing...soooooooooo

That ash Strat you saw is the new Strat Lite, a korean-made guitar with American parts and REAL Seymour Duncan pickups! I'm about to give it a VERY good review in a new post...
