  • Selling my modded RG?

Ok, here's my modded RG before and after with a set of paf pro's. I'm probably going to sell it. I haven't finished it yet, still needs a clear 'artist matt' coat.

Anyway, what do you guys think about adding a brushed pickguard and headstock decal for $55. Do you reckon I'd get more for it if I added these or would I be better saving my money and sell it as is? I was also considering putting the stock V1 & V2 pups back in or maybe offering the paf pro's installed as an option.

    Any suggestions would be cool

Where did you get that Ibanez pickguard from? I'm having trouble finding them on the net.

            Thanks Chaps,

It's 1990 RG570, so it got the good stuff, (edge trem, Gotoh tuners, etc). It's got a wizard neck of some kind.

It's a nice guitar, but I've been playing my paul and strat since I've had the Ibanez apart and the neck is just too thin and flat.

I've had this for 9 years and I've got some good use out of it. Lots of gigs, beers, etc . But the frets aren't as 'perky' as they were, I've had them dressed a year ago which only made it worse by taking more off the fret. It's still plays well, but I like big, high frets. I'd say they need replacement.

So it's time to upgrade to a 'newish' trem guitar with perfect frets . The wolfgang appears to be my best choice.

The pickguard was from Jeannie's pickguards. Good stuff. They actually stuffed up on the original p/guard and didn't cut the 5 way switch slot (see pics). To their credit they immediately sent me a another one.

is it the original solid steel edge? or the powdered ****? cant really see from the pics.
sorry to tell you, but you threw your money away with the gotoh tuners, unless the originals were busted.

the number 1 reason why i hate ibanez guitars is the damn neck. so damn paper thin i'm afraid i'll get a paper cut if i play too fast

i like the looks of it. it's got that cool vai thang going, so thats a major plus =)

Not all Ibanez guitars have that horrible neck though... the Artists don't at least. They still feel thin though, my favorite necks are the ones on gibson les paul studios. Epiphones are ok too, but still a bit thinner. On my 7 string the thickness is perfect though.

7 string Ibanez's are the worst feeling guitars I've ever layed hands on.

i like the neck on the satriani one.. i cant remember the feel of the white JEM cos it's been a coupld of years. havent played any prestige series ones but i hear good things about their necks.
