I´ve used Peavy´s tweed lifetime warranty cables for some years, and never thought about the cables as producing a specific sound. However, Peavey suddenly stopped the production of tweed cables, so I had to change to ordinary black lifetime warranty cables. But these give another sound in my gear, and the change is quite dramatic. It sounds much brighter and more distorted, and when I pull down the knobs on the amp, the warmth AND the sparkle is gone. I´ve been playing electric guitars since the mid-60s but have never experienced this before from cables alone. Someone else who have experience from it?
Now I´ve ordered some Fender Vintage Voltage tweed cables...colour: brown/wheat which will fit my Tweed Blues Deville. Hope the sound will return. Someone who like those?
