    Re: musicmaster bass amp

It was brought out in the '70s as a beginner or practice amp with an accompanying bass guitar of the same name. It makes a far better guitar amp than bass amp. A number of people at the Fender Forum have discussed mods to turn it into a tweedish amp. It came with AQ? something or other power tubes at first, and then switched over to 6V6's later. I made the mistake of passing on a very inexpensive 6V6 version that was running on only one tube -- oh well.

It strikes me as being as nice as a Champ with more power and a 12" speaker (could probably stuff a 15" in the cab). I like Princetons better in teh 12 W field -- more refined for guitar -- but the price differential is likely to be substantial, and the Musicmaster can satisy the urge to mod without the burden of guilt or a loss in value.

Check out the Fender amp field guide for more details.
    Enjoy it!

i have full plans to use it for guitar, its one of the 6v6 versions and i figure a little modding and it will be a cool little rehersal/jam amp.
